Frontwave Arena announces inaugural concert
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — San Diego County’s newest multi-purpose venue just announced the headliner for its Grand Opening Concert.
Frontwave Arena, located at 3475 Hero Dr. in Oceanside, is slated to officially open to the public on Sept. 16, starting with the Gold Over America Tour starring Olympic medalist, Simone Biles.
On Monday, the arena and Belly Up Entertainment announced its inaugural concert will be held on Oct. 5 with American rock band CAKE headlining the event.
Frontwave’s lineup of shows for the remainder of the year include Rocktoberfest with Seether, Giovannie and the Hired Guns, The Warning, and Tim Montana on Oct. 12, and Monsters of Hiphop featuring Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Baby Bash and more on Oct. 26.
They are followed by Freestyle Explosion on Nov. 2 and KSON Country Christmas on Dec. 7, according to the venue’s website.
Tickets for the Grand Opening Concert will go on sale Friday, Aug. 23 at 10 a.m. Early access tickets are available starting Wednesday, Aug. 21 for Frontwave Arena Insiders Club members who sign up online.
Aside from entertainment and community events, the 7,500-capacity venue will be the official home of the new NBA G-League San Diego Clippers, as well as the Major Arena Soccer League’s San Diego Sockers.
The arena is hosting an NBA pre-season game between the Clippers and the Brooklyn Nets on Oct. 8.
